The Gold Cup is the main football association competition of the men's national football teams governed by CONCACAF, determining the continental champion of North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The Gold Cup is held every two years. When two of the matches were hosted in Cleveland, Offside Marketing teamed up with the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and the American Outlaws Cleveland Chapter to develop and host a series of events leading up to the July matches.
These events included a Gold Cup Trophy Tour that featured celebrity Major League Soccer players and a block party that included several bars and restaurants who welcomed almost 400 soccer fans from across the county. Many of these fans were experiencing Cleveland for the first time and attendees were able to enjoy craft beers from many of the local breweries Cleveland has to offer.
We developed relationships with soccer industry partners from across Ohio to cross-promote the events and increase overall exposure. The events showcased a strong soccer community in NE Ohio, with many out-of-town attendees impressed with their experiences.
